Summary of the Israeli Colonial violations in West Bank, September 2020

This report briefly summarizes the Israeli occupation violations of human rights against the Palestinian lands and people during September 2020. The report replies on information from the daily reports of the Palestinian Monitoring Group of the PLO’s Negotiations Affairs Circle, Monitoring Israeli Colonization Activists in the Palestinian Territories (POICA), and We Watch Israeli Violations (wewiv) body.

Martyrs and Injured:
During this month, two citizens were killed in the West Bank. On 9/2/2020, prisoner Daod Alkhatib, 45, from the city of Bethlehem, was killed as a result of suffering a heart attack in (Ofer) prison due to medical negligence, where he suffered a stroke in 2017 while he was in Raymond prison. On 09/18/2020, the occupation forces fired sound bombs in the vicinity of the Barta’a checkpoint at the citizens, which led to the death of the dentist Nidal Muhammad Akram Jabareen, 54, from Jenin, as a result of his cardiac arrest, as a result of a sound bomb exploding near it.
The number of civilians injured during this month by the occupation forces and settlers reached 56 citizens, all of them in the West Bank, including six children, a citizen, and three journalists.
Arrest, detention, storming of residential areas, and deportation of citizens from Jerusalem:
During this month, the occupatهon arrested 356 citizens, including 332 in the West Bank and 24 in Gaza. The following is the distribution of detainees according to the governorates: 57 in Jerusalem, 39 in Ramallah, 39 in Jenin, 4 in Tubas, 17 in Tulkarm, 7 in Qalqilya, 19 in Nablus, 9 in Salfit, 13 in Jericho, 31 in Bethlehem, 97 in Hebron, and 24 in Gaza. Among the detainees: 5 children and a woman.
The Israeli occupation courts imposed house arrest on seven citizens of Jerusalem for different periods. In addition, the occupation deported 21 Jerusalemite citizens from Al-Aqsa Mosque, or from their places of residence in Jerusalem for different periods.
The occupation army committed 316 incursions into Palestinian residential communities this month. The following is the distribution of these incursions by governorates: 43 in Jerusalem, 45 in Ramallah, 26 in Jenin, 14 in Tubas, 20 in Tulkarm, 9 in Qalqilya, 27 in Nablus, 17 in Salfit, 9 in Jericho, 31 in Bethlehem, 60 in Hebron, 2 in North Gaza, 2 in Gaza, 3 in Khan Yunis, 2 in Rafah and 4 in the Middle Erea.
Thirty six civilians were detained during the raid on Palestinian homes and at the Israeli checkpoints for different periods of time.
Erecting military checkpoints and shooting at Palestinian citizens:
Durinل the month, the occupation army set up 365 abrupt checkpoints to disrupt the movement of citizens throughout the West Bank. These checkpoints were distributed among the governorates as follows: 11 in Jerusalem, 19 in Ramallah, 12 in Jenin, 1 in Tubas, 5 in Tulkarm, 46 in Qalqilya, 30 in Nablus, 30 in Salfit, 18 in Jericho, 125 in Bethlehem, and 68 in Hebron.
While the occupation army opened fire on Palestinian citizens in 183 cases, including 83 in the Gaza Strip and 100 in the West Bank. The shooting cases were: 35 during the storming of villages and cities, 65 by military checkpoints, 52 by military sites, and 23 by Gunboats.
Home and infrastructure demolition and property destruction:
During this month, the occupation demolished 29 Palestinian residential buildings. The demolitions were divided as follows: 3 homes in Bethlehem, 13 homes in Jerusalem, 9 in Hebron governorate, 2 homes in Ramallah, 9 in Hebron and two houses in the northern valleys.
The occupation forces also demolished 27 Palestinian facilities, including barracks and sheep pens, garages, shops, agricultural rooms, and others. The demolitions were distributed as follows: 7 in Jerusalem, 7 in Bethlehem, 9 in Hebron, 1 in Jericho, 1 in Nablus and 1 in Ramallah.
In the West Bank, there were 35 cases of destroying home furniture, damaging citizens cars, uprooting olive trees, and demolishing barracks, in addition to 9 cases in which citizens’ cars, recording cameras, personal belongings, and equipment were confiscated by the occupation forces.
Violation of sanctities:
The West Bank witnessed 28 cases of attacks by the occupation army and settlers on Islamic holy sites, including storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque, holding Jewish rituals in it, attacking mosque guards, as well as closing a mosque in Beit Sahour and preventing citizens from performing prayers in it.
Terror of the occupation army and settlers:
This month, settlers carried out 35 cases of assault and attack on Palestinian citizens, which consisted of running over citizens, throwing stones at their cars and homes, cutting down their trees, burning their agricultural lands, storming towns, and physically assaulting citizens.
The settlement activities:
5/9/2020 A group of settlers in the eastern plains region of the villages of Qaryut and Jaloud – Salfit put a barbed wire fence around an area of the citizens’ agricultural lands estimated at hundreds of dunams, in an attempt to seize it.
7/9/2020 The occupation forces swept an area of land in the Khallet Hodeidah area of the village of Haris – Salfit, near the settlement of “Kiryat Netafim”, in favour of expanding the settlement.
7/9/2020 The occupation forces swept away an area of agricultural land in the area of Khirbet Zanuta, south of the town of Dhahriya – Hebron, belonging to the families: Al-Jabarin and Al-Tal.
7/9/2020 The occupation forces swept away an area of the citizens’ agricultural lands in Wadi al-Jawiya, east of Yatta – Hebron, and sabotaged water networks.
9/9/2020 The occupation forces in the area of Ras Abu Zaitoun, northeast of the village of Ras Karkar – Ramallah, bulldozed to construct a dirt road and extend a water line to a random settlement outpost in the area, which led to the uprooting of 22 olive trees.
9/9/2020 The occupation authorities delivered a notification to change a detailed map of the citizens’ lands east and west of Bethlehem. The notification indicates that the map of Basin No. (4) in the Abu Mehr area of Arab Taamrah lands located adjacent to the colony of” Nikodim “located east of Bethlehem has changed To change the allocation in it from a Badia area to a residential area, whereby, according to the new map, roads will be cancelled. Other roads opened, and restrictions will be placed in the area of the structural map, with settlers limiting construction to 4 floors in preparation for the establishment of settlement projects in the Eastern Badia in Bethlehem Governorate, after Dozens of dunams were confiscated in the area. The notification included changing the map of Basin No. (7), the location of Wadi Shakti from the lands of the town of Nahalin, which is located adjacent to the settlement of “Alon Shivot”, to change the allocation from the land of a civilian centre and agricultural lands to a residential area (B), housing (C) and area Buildings of public institutions.
9/11/2020 A group of settlers entered the citizens’ lands belonging to the village of Burin, south of the town of Bani Naim – Hebron, and attacked a number of citizens. They also erected a tent on a plot of about five dunums of land owned by the citizen: Adnan Muhammad Al-Deek, in an attempt To grab it.
9/13/2020 The settlers of “Shaked” settlement, which is built on citizens’ lands in the village of Dhahr Al-Maleh – Jenin, located behind the Segregation Wall, began to bulldoze about 120 dunums of lands from the villages of Dhahr Al-Maleh and Zebda and the town of Ya’bad. These villages were confiscated by the occupation forces two years ago Establishing a new settlement community near the settlement.
9/13/2020 The occupation authorities approved a plan to establish 980 new settlement housing units in settlement of “Efrat”, which was established on citizens’ lands south of Bethlehem within the territories occupied in 1967.
9/15/2020, a group of settlers in the southeastern side of the village of Beit Dajan – Nablus put a barbed wire fence around an area of the village’s land in an attempt to seize it.
9/16/2020 The occupation authorities approved a plan to build 560 settlement housing units in “Hargeilo” settlement, in addition to a plan to expand the bypass road linking Jerusalem and the Gush Etzion settlements.
9/21/2020 The occupation forces swept away an area of Palestinian agricultural lands in the Khallet Hodeidah area of the village of Haris – Salfit, near the settlement of “Kiryat Netafim”, to expand the settlement.
9/23/2020 The occupation forces delivered Military Order No. 20/17 / T, which ordered the confiscation of 3,8 dunums in 17 sites in Hebron, between the two houses in the Tel Rumeida neighbourhood for security purposes.
9/24/2020 A group of settlers from the settlement outpost “Shvut Rachel” bulldozed an area of the citizens’ agricultural lands in Basin No. 13 in the village of Jaloud, to expand the outpost.
29/9/2020, a group of settlers, east of Beit Dajan village – Nablus, paved a settlement road linking the settlement of “Alon Moriah” with the Jordan Valley.
20/9/2020, a group of settlers, southeast of Imatin village – Qalqilya, placed three caravans on a plot of agricultural land owned by the citizen: Ahmed Saleh, from the village of Imation.
The settler terrorist attacks:
3/9/2020 A group of settlers were present near the town of Turmus Ayya – Ramallah and threw stones at Palestinian vehicles, wounding four citizens of one family (including two citizens).
3/9/2020 A group of settlers were present near the entrance to the settlement of “Ali” on the main road, Nablus – Ramallah. They threw stones at the citizens’ vehicles, which resulted in material damage to many cars.
5/9/2020 A group of settlers came on the main street in the town of Huwara – Nablus and threw stones at Palestinian vehicles, which led to smashing the windows of a Palestinian car.
5/9/2020 a group of settlers in the Tel Rumeida neighbourhood in the old city of Hebron threw stones at citizens’ homes owned by the families of Al-Natsheh, Maswadah, Zahida and Jaber, which led to the injury of a citizen with a stone in her foot.
6\9\2020 A settler ran over 11-year-old Yusef Saeed Jaber while driving his vehicle on Road 60 bypass, near the entrance to the settlement of “Kiryat Arba”, east of Hebron, resulting in injuries and bruises.
7/9/2020 A group of settlers entered the citizens’ agricultural lands in the plain of the town of Turmus Aya, and uprooted and stole 45 olive trees.
7/9/2020, a group of settlers stormed the Ras al-Tin area in Kafr Malik village – Ramallah, accompanied by the occupation forces, wounding two civilians.
7/9/2020, a group of settlers in the Al-Farisiya area in the northern Jordan Valley built arbours, installed water tanks and planted trees on a seized Palestinian plot of land.
9/8/2020 A group of settlers were present near the entrance to the village of Burqa – Nablus and threw stones at many citizens, which resulted in the injury of 3 civilians, with wounds and bruises.
12/9/2020 A settler opened fire at the homes of citizens in Al-Shuhada Street in the Old City of Hebron.
9/14/2020 A settler ran his vehicle over the main street in the town of Huwwara, the citizen: Atef Ahmed Youssef, a resident of Odia village – Nablus, wounding him and breaking his foot.
9/14/2020 A group of settlers from the “Tekoa” settlement, which is built on citizens ‘lands in the town of Tuqu’ – Bethlehem, bulldozed an area of land owned by the family.
9/18/2020 A group of settlers entered the citizens’ agricultural lands belonging to the village of Al-Zawiya – Nablus and cut dozens of olive trees in the areas near the settlement of “Rahim”.
9/19/2020 A group of settlers entered the citizens’ agricultural lands in Khallet Hassan, near the town of Badia – Salfit, and cut down and uprooted about 200 olive trees, owned by Salim Khalil.
9/23/2020 A group of settlers in the Khallet Hassan area of the town of Bidya – Salfit bulldozed many olive trees from the citizens’ lands that were threatened with confiscation.
9/24/2020 A group of settlers from the settlement of Ma’aleh Shamron, with their motorbikes, attacked a herd of sheep in the pastoral lands of the town of Kafr Thuluth – Qalqilya, which led to the death of 9 sheep and the injury of a number of them, which belong to the citizen: Abu Nael Moqbel.
25/9/2020, a group of settlers, south of Al-Khader town – Bethlehem, set fire to an area of the citizens’ lands planted with olive trees, destroying 50 perennial olive trees, owned by the citizen: Amin Khader Salah.
9/26/2020 A group of settlers in the town of Qusra – Nablus, accompanied by a force of the occupation army, attacked two farms for raising poultry, and inflicted material damage on their contents, set fire to an agricultural tractor, and wounded two civilians.
9/27/2020 A guard from the settlement of “Yitzhar” severely beat the citizen: Usama Ahmed Hamad, a resident of Asira al-Qibliya village – Nablus, while working on his land, which resulted in bruising him.
