Palestine Solidarity Student Movement in the US: Context, Prospects, and Challenges
Vision Center for Political Development & the Arab and Muslim Ethnicities and Diasporas Studies Program at San Francisco State University, cordially invite you to participate in the symposium, “Palestine Solidarity Student Movement in the US: Context, Prospects, and Challenges.” This event will feature a group of US student leaders who will share their experiences in advocating for the Palestinian freedom and protesting the Israeli genocide in Gaza. The students will discuss the following topics:
1. Context and Factors: analysis of the roots & factors that contributed to the recent rise of the student activism
2. Social Movement Tools: analysis of the methods and strategies employed by student activists.
3. Challenges and Prospects: discussion of the obstacles faced by the movement and its future direction.
4. Effectiveness and Sustainability: Participants will reflect on the impact of their actions and the student movement’s capacity to maintain their advocacy.
Format:
Dr Rabab Abdulhadi will offer a theoretical framework of the solidarity movement in the US.
Student articipants will share insights and experiences.
An interactive Q & A discussion with the audience.
Languages: The symposium will be conducted in English and Arabic, with simultaneous interpretation.
